Preprints and Conference Papers

Prior posting of a manuscript on a recognized preprint server does not automatically prevent consideration by an MSIS Press journal. Authors must disclose the preprint at submission and provide its persistent link or identifier. The submitted manuscript must not already constitute a formally peer-reviewed journal publication.

Work based on a conference paper may be considered when the journal submission contains substantial scholarly development and the earlier version is fully cited and disclosed. Authors must explain the relationship between the versions and secure any permissions required by the conference publisher.

After publication, authors should update the preprint record, where the service permits, with the DOI and link to the version of record.
