Editor-in-Chief Responsibilities
The Editor-in-Chief provides scholarly leadership and safeguards the journal's editorial independence. Responsibilities include maintaining the journal's scope and quality standards, appointing suitable editors and reviewers, managing conflicts of interest and ensuring that decisions are supported by the available evidence.
The Editor-in-Chief should recuse themselves when a personal, professional or financial relationship could reasonably affect impartiality. Submissions authored by editors or journal staff must be handled by an independent editor with no involvement from the author-editor.
The Editor-in-Chief also advises on corrections and post-publication concerns, supports consistent application of policy and works with MSIS Press to keep the journal record accurate and accessible.
